Research

Looking through video's and interviews on the internet, I have found some interesting views and beliefs in this music genre, I first look at the collaborative group DMZ who have been pushing the underground 'punk' style approach to "dubstep". They are one of the many artist who believe that the media puts music as a whole in the genres which helps them push and persude people into buying music.

For me i can see how i could link this subject in with adarno's theory on pluggin and brainwashing etc.

I would also like to look into how music becomes homogenous not only in pop but in underground new music such as 'dubstep'.

Refined essay proposal

After looking more into relevant research i have decided that i want to look at why music is put into genres and specifically look at modern contemporary music genres which have been given names recently as well as looking into why older more established genres were given there name.
